Inspired by the Ancients!

My name is Lori Bender and I live in Canada on lovely Vancouver Island with my family.

"Peace Tangles" is my husband's wonderful name for a site about the ancient work of placing patterns together in an artwork in a peacefully (or even 'peacefully passionate') abstract sort of way.

These tangles start with a squiggly/straight/curvy line and gradually those areas are filled in with patterns using a pen/pencil of your choice. You can do this basically anywhere and simply or with more complex patterns.

This site is intended for encouragement and inspiration.

My most recent fascination of dragons is rather compelling. I'm not too great at the drawing bit yet, however I have really enjoyed reading about just 'how' to make one look more realistic.


I love how the patterns are gradually growing on the lower dragon.. a work in progress, this drawing piece of art!
